If you’re looking to learn something new or participate in a conversation about your favourite fandom, Panels & Workshops are for you! Hundreds of fans come out every year to join in the conversation, trading ideas, and making new friends. ConBravo! is committed to offering the highest quality in panels and workshops and offers over 30 hours of panel programming every year.

What are Panels?

Panels are sessions where fans and professionals come together to discuss a topic that interests them (ie: Sailor Moon, or Retro Gaming). Some are hosted by speakers, others are roundtable discussions, and still others come complete with slideshows and musical interludes.

Panels can be run by just about anyone who is an expert (or close enough) on a subject. Please note that most panels require 3-4 topic leaders, and at least 1 person should be a moderator (someone who directs the conversation so everyone can talk). You don’t need to be an expert to attend, however, and panels are a great way to learn more about a topic.

What are Workshops?

Workshops are practical, hands-on sessions where the audience participates in learning a new skill (ie: Puppet-making or prop-building) from professionals and expert fans. They usually run a bit longer than regular panels and involve a “classroom” style setup (though there are exceptions). They’re great for first-timers or veterans looking to spruce up their skills.

How can I help out?

It’s easy to help out! Apply to run or participate in running a panel or workshop! Panel & Workshop registration is open, so go ahead and apply! Please note that applicants will still need to buy a pre-registration ticket, but may receive a full or partial refund based on how many sessions they participate in.
