ConBravo! @ Anime North

The fine people here at ConBravo! will be making an appearance at Anime North. Come look for us in the Toronto Congress Centre, where we’ll have a promotional table all set up and ready!

If you’ve been waiting to pre-reg for any reason whatsoever, we’ll have forms for you to sign up with at the table! Come on out and visit us, chat with us, and register with us at Anime North. See you there!

Volunteers! That’s right, it’s just over 11 months till the convention and we’re starting to open the flood gates for volunteers. Check out the volunteers page and send me an email. I’ll add you to the big list and we’ll be in touch until July.

There’s just a few guidelines for now, but keep in mind that closer to the date I’ll be double checking with everybody that they’re fully prepared to do the job. We’ll also be talking to volunteers at other conventions, and signing them up there. So keep an eye out for us. (We’ll be at Otakuthon next, just a few days away!)

We’re also looking for trained security and first aid people. More information about those two is coming soon.

Get ready for us, Québec

Otakuthon is going on July 31st through to August 2nd, and ConBravo! staff is attending! From Oakville, Missisauga and Toronto we’re hauling ourselves all the way to Montreal. We’re really excited to be going, especially since we’re going to have our first advertising table! So drop on in and say hi, we would love to chat. You won’t miss us, we’ll be the big orange table. We’ll also have our mailing list opened up at that time for anybody to sign up to receive updates. (For those of you who don’t check the website!) That’s getting prepared as we speak, as well as our preparation for volunteers. Our recruitment starts at Otaktuhon! More information about volunteers is coming real soon, stay tuned.

As well, our Queen of the Alley, Heather will be at her own artist’s alley table. She does amazing pixel paintings of video game characters. She’ll have some information about the ConBravo! Artist’s Alley.

And last but not least, some members from CrewBravo will be doing the opening skit in the Masquerade on Saturday night! (Under the name DRM studios.) You can see what kind of crazy people will be running a convention next year.

All of CrewBravo is amazed by the work the Otakuthon staff has put in in previous years. We always look forward to going to Québec, and the few members who have gone to Otakuthon before have said nothing but good things. See you then!

ConBravo! is GO!

Yes folks, we’re proud to announce that ConBravo! is gearing up for its first year. Due to arrive in Summer 2010, in Oakville, Ontario, mark your calendars people!

Our staff are all veterans of the con scene. Some of us have been there four years, some of us ten or twelve. Some even longer! We’re excited to bring you a new convention, at a great time of the year, with great people to organise it.

Our hope is that ConBravo! will be a fan’s con for as long as its life endures. There’s always time to be professional, and we’ve all taken that vow, but we’re friends and family too, and we hope our attendees will feel the love. Stay tuned for more news as it emerges!
