Hey ladies and gents, if you made it out to our sister convention Con-G this weekend, we hope you saw us there! These are the people who inspire us each year with their hard work and dedication to their con, and we wish them all the best.

Being the gracious, wonderful folks they are, Con-G let us showcase outside the main events room, where many of you stopped by to say hello and pick up flyers. Thanks to everyone who came by and showed their support for both ConBravo! and Con-G. Big shoutouts to the whole Con-G crew for providing all of us with an awesome weekend!

Back from DTAC ’09

Sunday was December Toronto Anime Convention 2009, a one-day event hosted at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre by HobbyStar. A ton of Toronto locals came out for the event, to shop, to socialise, and to make merry. ConBravo! sent delegates out to the floor to spread the word about our con and Con-G, and to say hello. Hopefully you saw us!

We here at ConBravo! want to thank the Con-G showrunners, The Savage Bandito, and everyone else who helped spread the word for both conventions.

Youmacon Presents: Live Action Mario Party!

Straight from Youmacon in Michigan, USA, Live Action Mario Party is coming to ConBravo!

Four teams will compete in a race to the finish, playing a wide variety of hilarious mini-games against each other for the top prize. Audience participation is a must, so everyone can get in on the action. Come out and play Live Action Mario Party on Saturday afternoon!

Then, after the Saturday night dance, we’re going to have a second round of LAMP, only this time it’s 18+, with all the dirty jokes you want. For those of you of age, be sure to come out and participate in the hijinks!

Otakuthon 2009 – We’re Back!

We’re back from Montréal, cooling our heels after a long trip. Otakuthon 2009 was an excellent experience, having built a fantastic show on their previous years of success. Everything from taiko drumming and traditional dancing to a full-blown masquerade and excellent panels were on hand.

If you happened to be at Otakuthon this year, you probably saw us in the dealer’s room, minding our own table. That’s right, ConBravo! had a table at Otakuthon. It’s our first public appearance and we’d just like to say thanks to everyone who came by and grabbed a flyer, gabbed with us, and took interest in the convention.

We were definitely surprised by how many Toronto-area locals travelled out to Montréal for the festivities, and so much the better! We hope to see you at ConBravo! the following year.

Many thanks to Amanda, Genevieve, Lulu, Josianne, Sebastian, and the whole Otakuthon team for making the convention a memorable experience. See you all at ConBravo! and next year’s Otakuthon!

Saturday Night J-Pop Dance!

ConBravo!’s very own Saturday night J-Pop dance is in the works! Hosted by DJ JANOS, DanceBravo! will run 10:00pm-1:30am on Saturday night of the con! The theme is “Super Ninja Beach Party”, so bring your lei’s, your bikinis, and your energy!
