ConBravo! is a celebration of fandom, from indie video producers to video games, costuming, and everything inbetween.
We’re three jam-packed days of fun, with panels and workshops, outdoor events and live game shows, vendors, artists, and so much more.
ConBravo! is held at the Hamilton Convention Centre, 1 Summers Lane, Hamilton, ON, L8P 4YC. This year’s show will be convened over July 26-28th, so mark your calendars!
ConBravo! began as eight friends in a teahouse. One Winter’s morning, they were struck with inspiration to run an event where fans from all walks of life could gather. Ontario had a lot of specialized events for anime or sci-fi, but there was so much more out there left uncelebrated.
In 2010, they put on their first show in Oakville and have been going ever since. Indie video, gaming, music, costuming, and crafts are all part of this incredible festival, and it doesn’t simply stop at the convention centre. Late-night room parties and local bar & club events abound. There’s simply no other party like ConBravo! out there.
Our philosophy is this: If we invite someone as a special guest, we want them to interact with their fans as part of the festival, not stand behind a booth all day. We reach out to online video producers, indie game developers, and highly skilled costumers to share their skills with the public. We reach out to niche fandoms which cause our attendees to bristle with excitement. Our guests are chosen from amongst those who wish to educate, enlighten, and invigorate the fandom.
Music is an integral part of our lives, and what better way to celebrate it than with some awesome concerts? Chiptunes, nerdcore, metal, and more rock the house when the concerts begin.
Gaming is everywhere at ConBravo!, from the Console & Arcade section to Tabletop and Outdoor events. Wanna settle Catan? We got it. Wanna kick ass in Street Fighter? No problem. Wanna thrash your buddies with boffer swords outdoors? Right this way.
From outdoor sessions of Quidditch to the awesome mini-games at Live Action Mario Party, we’re packed to the brim with things to see and do. Take in a game of D20 Live — our celebrity roleplaying game, or test your trivia might at a game of Geek Squares. There’s never a dull moment!
Whether it’s for the love of fandom, to learn a new skill, or to discuss something on your mind, our Panels and Workshops are brimming with ideas. We have tons of vendors and artists at ConBravo! every year. With over 150 shops available, there’s no shortage of incredible crafts, DVDs, figurines, games, and artwork to browse and buy.
Costumers are one of our largest demographics and to celebrate them, we have our Saturday Night Masquerade, a showcase to demo and reward their hard work. We also have the Hall Cosplay Contest, photography booths, and meetups which support the cosplaying community.
