As most of you now know, ConBravo! 2011 was a huge success. Not only did 1200+ of you come out to celebrate geekdom, you were an immense part of making our guests feel welcome, our staff appreciated, and our events a riot and a half. A convention is nothing without its attendees, and we’d like to invite all of you for our third year.
So here’s our plan.
We’re considering a third day. Maybe, if you guys really feel we should have one. Please make your voice heard, either through our Forums, Facebook, or on Twitter. E-mail us, snail mail us; definitely make yourself heard.
That said, we definitely are coming back for two days. The Burlington Hotel and Conference Centre (formerly the Burlington Holiday Inn) will play host to ConBravo! 2012 on July 28-29th 2012. We’ll be going into our pre-production meeting as of next month, so expect more details to emerge as we head into Autumn. We’re going to amp up our guests and our events, so stay tuned!

3rd day would be cool. I also think the Masquerade should be held earlier. I wanted to join it, but it ran at a time when I had to head home.
Glad about the new date for next year as this year it was the same time as EVO/MLG events so it made it almost impossible to chose which one to pick to go too.
I think a 3rd day would be great if you guys can manage it! It would give everyone a better opportunity to make it there. I’d also like to suggest that you try to get Nostalgia Critic and anyone else from channel awesome to come back next year too! The angry video game nerd would be a welcome guest too!
Maybe we can get w00tstock this year?! Or was that Con-G? Either way, shoot for it!
Yes! Have the con I really want to attend!
I’m already counting down the days to next year’s gathering.
I also motion for a third day.
I would love for there to be a third day. I’m pretty sure there are more people who would agree with that.
did not know what I was getting into when I said I would take grandkids. ended up being impressed with level of fun, good behaviour and great costumes. Kids had a blast and I would not hesitate to do it again.

I think we’re going to need a bigger boat… I mean convention center…
For a third day, are you thinking of adding in Friday night, or keeping the con on the long weekend and adding stuff on the holiday Monday?
A third day would be cool, but I also think that the con would benefit from running for only two days next year while it grows and matures into something even better!
Also, as an artist, staying in a hotel for two nights at a smaller con would be very costly so breaking even would probably be a bit difficult if it expanded to three days prematurely. I think changing the Artist Alley/Dealers Room layout (or putting them in separate rooms) for next year, while keeping it at two days, would be best for the time being.
I think Ninie has a really good point. I’m not an artist, and I’m lucky enough to live close enough that I just drive home at night (well, 40 min away). But for others, especially artists, the third day would have to be worth an extra $125 to stay another night.
As much as I want to say, “YAY, A THIRD DAY!!!!” I agree with Ninie as well. I believe it would greatly benefit the con to just keep improving things while staying 2 days (like splitting the Artist’s Alley and Dealer’a area as mentioned) to see what works and what doesn’t. Grow, expand a little more, try a bigger venue (with more panels and anime screenings :3 that’s my vote!) then maybe in your 4/5th year make it 3 days. Or sooner if you really think it’s ready. :D lol
Either way, I will definitely attend next year <3 I had a blast this year, and I am very excited to see this convention grow, since I see it has SO MUCH already since it's first year :3
If you do go with a 3rd day does that mean the panels and events can last longer? I felt they were a little rushed this year.
Oh man, I had no idea this convention was going on! I was in Baltimore for Otakon last weekend, but I do live in Burlington. Shame it’s the same weekend of Otakon though. Tough competition. If I don’t get a table at Otakon next year I’ll definitely be looking to attend :)
In anycase, it sounds like you had a pretty successful year, congrats to everyone who made that happen! :]
As a vendor, I think 2 days was enough. Business was slow on the Sunday compared to the Saturday.
Great con this year, but I don’t think a third day would be necessary at this point. Especially coming from an artist/vendor point of view; the expense getting to/from or staying in the hotel would have to be worth the extra day.
Also, based on those dates, I (and maybe a few other artists and probably a good number of attendees) won’t be able to attend next year as there are other conventions in close proximity to ConBravo that run at the exact same time (and those cons are generally more profitable for artists). :<
Being one of the 1200+, i feel it would be of great benifit to have a third day, i know that me, as well as three friends stayed the night, and found two days seemed too short, the four of us are all planning on inviting even more people, it was lots of fun, please contact me with details :)
A third day would be great! Can’t wait to go back, a big hello from Montreal!
A third day would be amazing! more nerdiness, more cosplaying, and more epic larp battles! i cant tell any one tell how welcoming it felt last year at the con. im basically the only nerd in my town so it was amazing to find friendly people as nerdy and non-judgmental as i. long live conbravo!
